Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud for Connected Fundraising, Membership, and Grant Operations

Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud for Connected Fundraising, Membership, and Grant Operations

About the client

The Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) is a US-based nonprofit physicians association. It runs fundraising campaigns, membership programs, medical missions, and grant-funded projects across multiple regions.

The Summary

SAPA asked us to bring its fundraising, membership, marketing, program, and grant operations into a single Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud model. We connected the platforms the organization already ran on, consolidated its constituent data, and replaced manual handoffs with structured processes and clear data ownership.

The Challenge

SAPA had grown faster than its systems. Fundraising, membership, marketing, finance, and program work ran across separate platforms, spreadsheets, documents, and manual steps, which left the organization without one reliable view of its constituents.

  • Fundraising was fragmented across channels.

Donations arrived through FundraiseUp, Stripe, PayPal, ACH, LaunchGood, GlobalGiving, checks, cash, pledges, and offline gifts, which made reconciliation and fund allocation difficult.

  • Membership data sat in disconnected systems.

Records were split across NEON and Zoho, which produced duplicates and inconsistent statuses. Membership status determined election eligibility, so the inconsistency carried a governance risk

  • Marketing workflows depended on manual exports.

Staff pushed donor and member data through Excel before loading it into Klaviyo, which added administrative work and kept constituent data separate from marketing activity.

  • Grants and programs were document-driven.

Grant and program teams tracked information, activities, and funding cycles in Google Docs, email, and spreadsheets, which made central tracking and reporting difficult.

The Solution

SAPA had grown faster than its systems. Fundraising, membership, marketing, finance, and program work ran across separate platforms, spreadsheets, documents, and manual steps, which left the organization without one reliable view of its constituents.

All Technologies Used

The Outcome

  • Built a connected constituent foundation by bringing donor and membership information together in Salesforce and reducing fragmentation across legacy systems.

  • Unified fundraising visibilityby representing online and offline channels inside one Salesforce fundraising model covering donations, campaigns, restricted and unrestricted funds, and allocation.

  • Structured grant managementby moving proposal, review, and approval out of documents and email into a defined Salesforce lifecycle.

  • Cut manual marketing administrationby synchronizing Salesforce constituent segments directly into Klaviyo and removing the Excel export step.

  • Strengthened program and financial visibilityby connecting programs, activities, budgets, contributions, allocations, payments, and reporting in one operating model.
